The National Graduate School in Linguistics and Philology (LingPhil), Faculty of Humanities, Norwegian University of Science and Technology - offers a two-year Postdoc position .

The application deadline is August 29, 2014.

The application is to be submitted electronically through http://www.jobbnorge.no, marked with HF-14-013, with attachments (preferably gathered in one document).

The goal of this project is to study the linguistic and cognitive aspects of bilingualism in Norway (applying both to standard language use and multiple dialects). The Norwegian context offers exciting opportunities for research in this area, which have been so far, largely unexplored. This research is of special interest both for international research on multilingualism addressing situations of closely related languages, and even more so for Norwegian research and the societal impact of using multiple codes on a daily basis. The focus of the project is largely experimental and the aim is to collect and analyse reliable empirical data. The project comes under the broader research agenda of the Experimental and Theoretical Approaches to Language (ETHL) research group, and The Language Acquisition and Language Processing Lab group at the Department of Language and Literature.

Further details about the positions can be obtained by contacting the Scientific Director of LingPhil, Professor Mila Vulchanova, at mila.vulchanova@ntnu.no.
